Gibson ES-125T Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1958)
Gibson ES-125T Model Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1958), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # T3662-2, sunburst top, dark stained back and sides finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.
Overall length is 40 1/2 in. (102.9 cm.), 16 1/16 in. (40.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).
This guitar remains relatively clean overall with some moderate weather checking and some wear to the original finish, most notably to the back of the neck and the edges and face of the headstock. There is not too much finish wear to the body, mostly surface scratches on the lower sides. The hardware -- including strip Kluson Deluxe tuners, a single P-90 pickup, and amber knobs -- is all original except for a correct-style repro tailpiece in chrome instead of nickel.
The top of the original adjustable rosewood bridge has a worn-away spot just past the high E string, rounded down from someone resting their hand there quite a bit. The frets have some wear, mostly under the B string in the lower positions, but the guitar still plays well and sounds great. A handier model than the original deep-bodied ES-125; a cool and relatively affordable 1950s Gibson. Includes a good modern HSC. Overall Excellent - Condition.
