Harmony Roy Smeck Soprano Ukulele (1950's)

Harmony Roy Smeck Soprano Ukulele (1950's)

Harmony Roy Smeck Model Soprano Ukulele (1950's), made in Chicago, natural lacquer finish, mahogany body and neck, styrene plastic fingerboard.

A plain but good-sounding solid mahogany uke from the 1950's with Harmony's patented molded plastic fingerboard. By this point Roy Smeck's name was applied to this good quality but student-grade uke instead of the company's fancier instruments! This is the best of the plastic fingerboard ukes, and while obviously no match for a Martin, a surprisingly good little player.
Overall length is 21 in. (53.3 cm.), 6 1/2 in. (16.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 3/8 in. (6 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 13 in. (330 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/8 in. (35 mm.). Only the slightest wear, and a sticker impression on the back of the headstock to show this was ever used at all. A very clean uke! Excellent + Condition.
